Everest Trek 2012

It took 9 & half hours to Jiri from Kathmandu

Lukla - Katmandu-Pokhara-Baktaphur

Final Goodbye at Lukla- Al's Friends place....... with the goodluck scarfs!!!!,.....

Happy Nights in Katmandu for the boys...with the Nepalese girls!!!!

Met with the rest of the gang in Pokhara..... lake of Pokhara!!

Dinner at Oh La la. cafe....

Went to view "Daulaghiri'..Worlds 7th highest mountain.....

Motorbike adventure in Pokhara......!!!

White water rafting....good fun!!!...but too easy for some!!!

We are all back in Katmandu... Getting ready for the long journey to Trivandrum and then to Male'.

We will be leave Katmandu on 22nd morning.... 12hrs to Gorakphur...next 60hrs train ride to Trivandrum (If nothing goes wrong like the previous trip...which took us 78hrs)

Inshallahy will arrive Male on 26th evening....

Dinbouche to Lobouche

Crossed the difficult ascent from Dugla to Lobouche ( 4940m)

Some stayed behind at Lobouche due to altitude sickness...

 On top of the world ...Kala Patthar (5550m)....yay...the best feeling ever!!!

Some went down to Pokkara from Lobouche...the adventurers  continued to Chola Pass...

Now we are at Namche... will head to Lukla in an hours time...( 6-7 hrs walk)...tomorow morning will take the flight to Katmandu..

YAY ..WE MADE IT!!!

Tenboche to Penboche..

Left Namche 8:30hrs..... uphill and downhill...
Took us 5hrs 30 min to reach Tenboche...

Met some serbian advisos on the way.. at Punky tenga

Sherpa ayya skipped the lunch and wen all th way to Tenboche straight...

Walk Tenboche wasnt easy...
stayed one night at Tenbouche...had a view of Everest...


This morning left Tenbouche and arrived to Pabouche after a 2hrs 30 min walk...

View was amazing...

Heading to Dingboche tomorrow ...

Some are going through altitude sickness but inshallah all are well...

Train ride from Trivendrun to Gorakpur..

60 hr train ride became 78hrs.... of no shower..buriyani... lots of sweaty guys ..chaiwala's..
Bus ridre from Gorakpur to Katmandu became 14 hrs... the driver locked the keys insde...luckily we had locksmiths among us...who saved us!!!

 Crossing the border to Nepal... India immigration was worse than the Indian trains...
The drive to Katmandu was cozy.. .. 9 in a small 4 wheel...

2 days of preparation in Katmandu...



Took a flight to Lukla (2642m)..on 27th April...where the trekking starts...

Arrival to Lukla..

Began our trekking to Phakding.... with 13 to 16 kilos on our backs... took us about 4 hrs to reach.

Next day was the hardest...the steepest and the most challenging days of our lives!! ..took us about 9 hrs to reach Namchey....(3444m)

The view was amazing... was worth the effort!!

walk back from Syngabouche to Namche.... 3880m - acclimatizing  for  the next journey to Tembouche (3860m) - will saty overnight.

Sorry for the delay in updates as we did not have much access and time for internet.....all the delays with the train and the bus and the flight to Lukla messed up a bit!
